You should be so excited when you get the top-of-line Panasonic HC-X900 in hand, especially after you get your first Panasonic HC-X900 shootage. The fantastic 3-sensor 3MOS sensor system, together with the Crystal Engine PRO II, a fast processor which writes large HD files to memory quickly and efficiently, allows for high-res zooming when exceeding the optical range and reduce image noise, rendering beautiful, lifelike images. Besides the perfect images, you can get the 1080/60p footages, which contains more vibrant and detailed than an interlaced (or "i") HD recording. What can you want more about it?

There is almost no demerits on the Panasonic HC-X900. 1920 x 1080/60p recording, clear 5.1-channel surround sound recording with Wind Noise cancelling function, 32GB of built-in memory, the ability to record in 3D (with optional 3D lens), and a 3-sensor 3MOS sensor system can meet all the videographers' and filmmakers' expect. But when the recording is over and you want to edit HC-X900 AVCHD 1080p recodings in FCE, you will feel disappointed to some extent since FCE can not natively support the AVCHD video format. Then how can you bridge Panasonic HC-X900 AVCHD files with FCE?

As far as we know, like iMovie, FCE can work with Apple InterMediate Codec(AIC). Now the problem becomes easier --- you just need a AVCHD to AIC converter, which can convert Panasonic HC-X900 AVCHD 1080p shootages to AIC for FCE with high quality. Here I highly recommend a top AVCHD to FCE Converter, the Brorsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac. With it, you can easily transcode Panasonic HC-X900 AVCHD files to AIC for editing in FCE with high quality, the same as the originals, and get some useful editing features, including merging several videos into one file, deinterlacing the original footages, cropping video size, trimming video clips, adding special effects and text/image/video watermarks to output videos.

Let's start the AVCHD to AIC conversion with the step-by-step guide.

Step 1: Import Panasonic HC-X900 1080p MTS/M2TS files to the best AVCHD Converter to FCE for Mac.
Connect your Panasonic HC-X900 to your Apple with USB2.0. Launch AVCHD to AIC Converter for FCE on Mac and then click the adding button to import your AVCHD files. You can preview your files with double click on it.
Tip: If you have multiple 1080/60p AVCHD recordings, you can select the “Merge into one” box to combine them as one.

Step 2: Select an output format for FCE and set the output folder.
Click on “Format” and you will get a dropdown menu, then move you pointer to iMovie and Final Cut Express > Apple Intermediate Codec(AIC) (*.mov). The Apple Intermediate Codec(AIC) is the compatible format for FCE. Then you can set the output folder by clicking “Browse” icon as you need.

Step 3: Click “Settings” icon to adjust audio and video parameters.
Click the “Settings” icon and you will go into a new interface named “Profile Settings”. You can adjust codec, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate and audio channel in the interface according to your needs and optimize the output file quality.
Note: Set the video frame rate as 30fps, video size as 1920*1080 to keep the best quality for editing in FCE.

Step 4: Start to convert Panasonic HC-X900 AVCHD 1080/60p recordings to AIC without loss of quality for FCE.
Click the “Convert” button; it will transcode Panasonic HC-X900 AVCHD 1080p files to AIC for FCE on Mac immediately. You can find the process in the “Conversion” interface.

When the AVCHD to FCE Conversion is 100% completed, you can import Panasonic HC-X900 1080p MTS/M2TS to FCE without any problem.
