Why we always encounter some compatibility problems between the camera and FCP when we try to transfer Sony CX130 output videos to Final Cut Pro 7 for editing?

Firstly, we must know that the favorable format for Final Cut Pro is Apple ProRes, Sony HDR-CX130 is a high definition camcorder that supports Full HD recording in AVCHD. But AVCHD is not the compatible format for FCP. That is the reason. So if the users wanna to import/edit Sony CX130 AVCHD in FCP 7 freely, you must know how to convert Sony HDR-CX130 AVCHD MTS to ProRes for FCP 7 .To finsh it , a powerful third party transcoder is necessary.

I used Brorsoft Sony AVCHD to FCP Converter , which comes with the preset profile for Final Cut Pro and other Mac tools like iMovie, Final Cut Express, etc. With it, I transcode Sony HDR-CX130 AVCHD to ProRes for FCP 7 on Mac without any quality loss. You can follow me and have a try. All the process requires only 4 simple steps.

Step 1: Go to download and install this best AVCHD to ProRes Converter and then launch it to load your MTS/M2TS files to the software.
    Tips:
    1. Connect your CX130 camcorder to Apple computer via USB cable and you can find the .mts files by following the camera folder AVCHD > BDMV > STREAM.
    2. If you wanna join MTS/M2TS files for Final Cut Pro, please check the "Merge into one" box.

Step 2: Select the output format for FCP 7 via clicking on Format > Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) (.*mov). And you can set the output folder as you want.

Step 3: Click the “Settings” icon and you’d better set the video size as 1920*1080, video frame rate as 30fps to keep the best output video quality.

Step 4: Start transcoding Sony CX130 MTS to ProRes for FCP 7 via clicking the Convert button. Then go get a cup of coffee (conversion takes time).

After the conversion, get the converted MTS files from the output folder. Afterwards, you can transfer and edit Sony CX130 AVCHD in FCP 7 freely.
