At CES 2011 in Las Vegas, Sony announced the Sony HDR-TD10, the company’s first 3D camcorder. The HDR-TD10 is not the first 3D camcorder from a major manufacturer—Panasonic released the HDC-SDT750 last year—but it does have an interesting design that Sony touts as being the world’s first 3D camcorder with “Double Full HD”. Sony’s new camcorder offers other shooting modes as well, including the widely used “Side-by-Side Format” for AVCHD (3D) and conventional AVCHD (2D) shooting.
So if you use Sony HDR-TD10 for the 1920×1080 AVCHD (2D) recording and want to edit the 2D 1080i mts files on Mac with FCP/FCE/iMovie, but AVCHD MTS is not the preferred format for Final Cut Studio. So if you want to edit Sony HDR-TD10 2D AVCHD video with high quality on Mac, you can convert Sony HDR-TD10 1080 MTS (2D) to MOV before editing.
Here is the step-by-step guide for you to import and edit Sony HDR-TD10 AVCHD (2D) MTS to Final Cut Pro/FCP7/FCE/iMovie on iMac/MacBook Pro with Mac OS X like Mountain Lion, Lion, Snow Leopard.
